InterClub Meeting

Interclub with Brighton CCCC

ESCC will host a joint meeting of the two clubs on 2 April at the Gartrell Church.

This will NOT be an inter-club competition - there will be no aggregation of results and no winning club announced.
All members from both clubs are asked to submit up to three images for peer judging.

Upload entries here.

There will be no set subject - just an open category for all.

All present will be invited to use the smart phone based scoring system as used at last year’s Oscars Night to provide an ‘audience score’.

Scores for ESCC member photographs will NOT count towards the club's 2024 aggregate competition.

Any photographs can be entered irrespective of previous scores or the number of times they have previously been entered.

The one proviso here is if you can remember particular images of yours that were entered in the three-way competition last year, it is suggested you don’t enter the same one(s) again.

Other than that, feel free to enter your best work.
Images will need to be uploaded by midnight, Thursday 28 March via the club website in the normal way.

Note the earlier cutoff date to allow time for setting up the scoring system.

As hosts, it is normal for our club to provide a light supper. If members could

About the Workshop

This workshop will be led by Peter Fisher. Peter Fisher’s career as one of Australia’s leading photographers spans more than 35 years. His work ranges from gritty realism to contemplative fine art portraiture. Four years spent in the creative hot house of Asia in the 90s saw him shooting for the advertising and design industry, financial institutions, multi-national corporations and five-star resort developers.

It was the birth of his son Maxwell in 1999, and capturing all the beautiful, yet fleeting moments that come with parenthood, that gave him a new appreciation of the value of fine art portraiture and eventually led him into a new era in his business. Peter creates his art in studio, as well as on location, with his subjects including all members of one’s family - from the tiniest of people to the furriest of friends.

Peter has been awarded Master of Photography (twice) and Australian Portrait Photographer of the Year (1995) by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP), and has been published in the creative industry’s bible, Communication Arts. His portrait of Gay Bilson is in the Australian National Portrait Gallery’s permanent collection. He has judged numerous AIPP competitions over various categories. He is represented worldwide by GettyImages – www.gettyimages.com.

“Photography, for me, is the discovery of the unexpected — finding the jewel in the everyday,” he says.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn the art of Environmental Portraiture from a master. See his portfolio here PORTRAITS - Peter Fisher

Members are asked to bring their cameras ready for portraiture - flash/Speedlite are not required. We also ask that members be prepared to work on both sides of the camera, at times as the photographer and at other times as the model.
